4 Delicious Drinks to Keep You Toasty This Fall

Breakfast - Coffee Mills

Finally, after months of beautiful warm summer days, the weather is changing.  Break out your big cozy sweaters and warm fall drinks because autumn is finally upon us.  It’s time for holidays with friends and family, snuggling into your blankets with a good book, and a whole new season of outdoor sports. And prepare yourself…for pumpkin spice. Pumpkin spice used to be a tasty reminder of autumn’s long gone by, but now pumpkin spice is being added to everything. In the last few years, it has become about as subtle as that woman in your office with all the pictures of her cat.

Your first couple of pumpkin spiced coffees of the season are always nice, but after that, we need to remember there are so many more flavors out there to try. We need a wide variety of hot drinks to warm our hands and raise our spirits. Here are some for you to try as the season comes upon us:

Spiced Tea:

Remember how good a nice cup of spiced hot tea can taste?  Whether you like the delicate apple/cinnamon blend, a brisk cup of orange spice, a gentle sip with lemon, or a hearty Earl Gray, tea can be a calming and tasteful way to enjoy the cold weather.

Hot Chocolate:

Another fall favorite.  Nothing brings the feeling back to your fingers like a hot cup of cocoa.  Drop a candy cane into your cup for the perfect holiday pick-me-up.  For a little added zip, mix in caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, orange zest, maple syrup or habanero peppers.  Hot Chocolate also goes great with coffee.  Add a spoonful or two of coffee to your cup of cocoa for a wonderful taste.

Coffee Tastes:

Too often we forget that there is so much more to flavored coffees this time of year then the single lane of pumpkin spice.  Coffee or lattes can be flavored with cinnamon, vanilla extract, nutmeg, or ginger. Prepare yourself for the morning cold with a flavorful pick me up that will make the cold more than bearable.  A great tasting coffee can turn a cold day into something wonderful.

Coffee Cocktails:

Sometimes, the purpose of a cup-of-comfort is to get you spiced, and not the coffee.  Topping off your coffee with a choice liqueur can get you through the worst the cold weather can throw at you.  The more refined amongst us might mix a little Bailey’s Irish Cream, Amaretto  or Kahlua with a cup of Joe. Others might enjoy spicing things up with a hazelnut or chocolate liqueur, Grand Marnier, or Tia Marie. Those looking for greater efficiency turn to just a little whisky, bourbon, rum or brandy to find what they are looking for in a cup of coffee at the end of the evening.

As the weather turns for the worst, make sure that you have something hot and tasty in a cup to put the cap on a great fall day.  Regardless of whether you are looking for coffee, tea, hot cocoa, or a new coffee flavoring for fall, Coffee Mill can help you find what you’re looking for! Contact us today to bring a little autumn to your office!
